STUDENT ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Background
With the objective to ignite innovation and startup entrepreneurship in the minds of youth, IIMK LIVE has conceived an entrepreneurship development program for the students in arts, science and engineering collages in Kerala. This program is executed in association with MoonshotJr which is a silicon valley US based Edtech Company having offices across geographies, operating with the objective to promote entrepreneurship and to strengthen startup ecosystems.
As a part of this program, MoonshotJr along with IIMK LIVE will conduct 7 months training program spanning to 70 hrs of online training by experts from Silicon Valley US, UK and in India as well as IIMK faculty members. This would help students to refine their ideas as well as develop prototypes. Out of these innovative ideas/prototypes developed, top 10 students/startups will get incubated at LIVE and they will be part of our business incubation program.
Program
The program will run for 7 months in 3 stages:
• ELDP-R-Stage 1: Technology, Entrepreneurship & Leadership program for all enrolled students (1500 - 3000) to help them develop the idea, work in teams and create a business plan. Students will be able to enroll as individuals or as teams. The duration of this stage will be approx. 3 months.
• ELDP-R-Transition Stage (Pitch Fest): In this stage, the teams will be preparing their business pitches and presenting in the pitch fest (competition). Winners or selected teams will get into the next stage. The duration of this stage will be approx. 1 month and 50-100 students (8-20 teams) will be shortlisted.
• ELDP-R-Stage 2: Selected teams will go through a regress program to understand how to take their idea or business plan to the next level. They will be mentored to understand the start-up/company set-up and develop a draft prototype or a prototype. This stage will focus not only on Entrepreneurship & Leadership skills but also on industry domains. At the end of this stage, teams
will be presenting their idea to get an opportunity to incubate with IIMK LIVE or Moonshot Jr. Duration of this stage will be approx. 3 months.
Program Fees
This program is absolutely free for the student community. Colleges across Kerala can nominate individuals and teams as part of the program.
Incubation at IIMK LIVE
After the ELDP program, 10 selected ideas/entrepreneurs will get an opportunity to incubate (physically or virtually) at IIMK LIVE, for a period of 2 years. Selected entrepreneurs can apply for the various funding schemes run as part of IIMK LIVE.
IIMK LIVE has strict policy in selecting the startups/entrepreneurs for funding/fellowship schemes. Hence IIMK LIVE will not guarantee any funds to any of these startups under this program except being shortlisted and recommended by an expert panel constituted as per the scheme guidelines.
Funding
Selected entrepreneurs under this program will have the option to apply for the fellowship program of
IIMK LIVE. As a part of the fellowship program, selected entrepreneur can get upto Rs.30000 per month
for 12 months
IIMK LIVE operates idea/prototype stage seed fund scheme of DPIIT, as per the scheme the selected
startups can get equity funding upto Rs.50 lakhs and grants upto Rs.20 lakhs
IIMK LIVE also operates early stage seed fund scheme LIVE Seed Support for Startups –LIVE-SSS
as a part of this scheme, selected startups can get upto 1 Cr of seed funding from IIMK LIVE'
During the incubation phase, IIMK LIVE will connect the startups to angel/VC investors, LIVE
networks and other incubators for raising grants and funding. The top performing shortlisted startups
can take part in annual startup investor meet ‘Start-O-Sphere’.
IIMK LIVE has strict policy in selecting the startups/entrepreneurs for funding/fellowship schemes.
Hence IIMK LIVE will not guarantee any funds to any of these startups under this program except being
shortlisted and recommended by an expert panel constituted as per the scheme guidelines.
