Yes, applicants must be first-generation entrepreneurs and committed to working full-time on their proposed startup idea during the EiR program.

Your startup should be in the ideation, validation, or very early stages.

​Which sectors are eligible for the program?
The startup should focus on technology innovation aligned with the GENESIS scheme, including:

Does my startup need to have scalability and impact potential?
Yes, the startup must demonstrate scalability potential and have the ability to create measurable impact, particularly in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.

Are there any legal compliance requirements for the startup?
If the startup is already incorporated, it must be registered as a Private Limited Company or LLP under Indian laws. Additionally, the entity should not be older than one year at the time of application.

Can I submit a startup idea that is similar to an existing product or service?
No, the startup idea must be original and should not involve duplication of existing products/services or any form of plagiarism.

Can startups with prior funding apply?
Startups that have received significant private or government funding exceeding ₹10 lakh for the same idea are not eligible. Those that have already availed government support under other schemes for the same concept are also excluded.

How should I plan to use the EiR grant?
You must provide a clear and actionable plan for utilizing the EiR support, such as for prototype development, market research, or customer validation etc.

Are there location-based preferences for applicants?
Yes, priority will be given to startups and entrepreneurs from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to promote regional innovation.

What are the objectives that my startup/idea must align with?
Your startup/idea must align with the GENESIS scheme’s objectives, including:

Are there participation requirements for applicants?
Yes, applicants must actively participate in mentorship programs, workshops, and other activities organized under the EiR program.

Yes, the following are excluded:

Individuals currently enrolled in other full-time incubation/entrepreneurship programs, unless explicitly permitted by both programs.
